Google to cut 12,000 Jobs

Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. said Friday it will cut 12,000 jobs, or about 6% of its workforce, in the latest sign of the tech industry’s struggles amid a weakening economy. CEO Sundar Pichai said in an email to employees that the layoffs will affect teams across the company, including recruiting and some corporate functions, as well as some engineering and product teams.
