Johannesburg – South African Fashion Week (SAFW) is back, and we can’t wait to see what our favourite designers have in store for us. The event, which will take place from 18 to 21 October at the Mall of Africa, promises to be a showcase of the best of South African fashion..
One of the things we love most about SAFW is the opportunity to see new and emerging designers alongside established names. This year’s lineup includes a mix of both, with designers such as David Tlale, Laduma Ngxokolo, and Rich Mnisi showing alongside newcomers such as Thebe Magugu and Palesa Mokubung..
We’re also excited to see what trends will be emerging on the runway. Last year, we saw a lot of bright colours and bold prints, and we’re hoping to see more of the same this year. We’re also expecting to see a lot of sustainable fashion, as designers become more and more aware of the environmental impact of their work..
Of course, no fashion week would be complete without some celebrity sightings. We’re hoping to see some of our favourite local stars, such as Bonang Matheba, Maps Maponyane, and Thando Thabethe, in the front row..
