**(Sydney, Australia)** – Australian authorities have arrested and charged a Chinese national with espionage, alleging that he was collecting sensitive information on behalf of the Chinese government. The suspect was apprehended in Sydney on Monday, July 25, 2023, after an extensive investigation by the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO).

According to court documents, the suspect, identified as 41-year-old businessman Di Dong, is accused of gathering intelligence on Australian political and military activities, including the country’s defense capabilities and foreign relations.
