Virtual wardrobe app Vera raises €8 million

In December 2019, Nada Bargachi and Olivia Breysse launched Vera, a virtual wardrobe app that uses AI to recommend three outfits per day to its users, depending on the weather. Vera has now raised fresh funds worth €8 million with the Perpetua Investment Group, an investment fund based in Dubai.

In March 2021, Vera activated a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule. The funds raised with Perpetua Investment Group will be used to finance technology investment in servers, app maintenance and algorithm development. 

How does Vera work? Users are asked to take pictures of the items of clothing in their wardrobe. There is no need to add descriptions, because AI recognises them by detecting 22 design elements. On a daily basis, Vera is then able to suggest three outfits depending on the weather conditions.
