The Y2K style renaissance has sparked the revival of various nostalgic trends and cult pieces from the era—moto jackets being one such example. Originally endorsed by the likes of Victoria Beckham, colorful vintage versions have proved popular among Gen Z shoppers, and now do the rounds on Depop and eBay. Multiple brands, meanwhile, have attempted to replicate the buzzy appeal of moto jackets on the runways.
While teens and 20-somethings may have fallen for the hero piece, Cher, who is 76 years old, shows the trend can work at any age. The singer recently took a purple, black, and white moto for a spin on the red carpet at a special screening of Chevalier. At the event, held on April 16, she wore the cropped moto jacket slightly unzipped with a gray puffer coat over the top, paired with wide-leg trousers.
