Jennifer Lopez Wore a Sheer Gown With Very Strategically Placed Cutouts

A sheer dress style I haven’t seen before? Leave it to Jennifer Lynn Lopez.

When it comes to the sheer dress styles, I know them all: The naked illusion, the translucent skirt over high-waist briefs, the maternity wear—but J.Lo’s latest illusion dress just invented a whole new category.

At the premiere of her new Netflix documentary , which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on June 8, Lopez wore a black mock-neck Tom Ford gown with strategically placed sheer cutout panels.

The deceptively modest cut of the dress—long sleeves, a floor-skimming hem with a tiny train—put a new spin on the über-popular, of-the-moment sheer style.

Lopez and her stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, paired the gown with teardrop Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings and black heels with a sparkly silver platform.

Hairstylist Chris Appleton gave the 52-year-old a slick, half-up, half-down pony that came down to her waist, with baby hairs laid perfectly.

Halftime, which premieres June 14 on Netflix, follows Lopez as she prepares for the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, which she headlined alongside Shakira. Judging solely on the halftime show itself—sexy, a feat of choreography genius, no notes—it’s bound to be great.
