Nicola Coughlan has unfortunately been “struck down with Miss Rona,” as the Bridgerton actor wrote in a recent Instagram post. While her castmates from the popular Netflix and Shondaland series were dressed to the nines for the red carpet at the season-two premiere, Coughlan was home after testing positive for COVID earlier that day.
Since Bridgerton didn’t get the red-carpet treatment for the first season, which premiered in late 2020, during a high point of COVID-19 cases, Coughlan shared her disappointment at having to miss this premiere because of the virus…again. In her post she wrote, “So I’ve been struck down with Miss Rona and I’m missing our first premiere—heartbroken is an understatement but sending so much love to my gorgeous castmates who I hope have the best night.”
Her night might not have ended as planned, but Nicola Coughlan brought the glam regardless. Here’s hoping for a swift recovery for Bridgerton’s favorite gossip writer.
Bridgerton returns for season two on Netflix on March 25.
